Sir
I wrote you last under date the 14 August respecting the monies charged at your debit on the Books of this Office to which you have not yet replied. I have now to renew my request that you will immediately transmit the necessary vouchers for money expended by you, and should a balance remain in your hands you are required to return it to the Treasurer of the United States to enable me to close your account. I trust you will pay immediate attention to this object to prevent the disagreeable necessity of placing your name on the abstract of delinquents to be laid before Congress within the first week in January next pursuant to their resolve of the third of March last.
I am Sir
