October 1797 D^r Sir Your favor of the 20. covering a news paper & a letter adressed to Col^o Sargent is received & that adressed to the Colonel shall go forward Tomorrow by a trusty hand. You will find this accompanied by a General Return of Stores at this post for July August September & a Franklin & Pratt & Presque isle up to the 1^st of September 1797. I am sorry My Letter of the 19^th instant has not reached you on the 20^th as the purport of it was and is of great importance to me.
