I now have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 15th Inst with the accompanying receipts for bounty paid since the last transmission, which will be placed with those already acknowledged, and entered to your credit on settlement of your recruiting account.
The further sum of Two hundred dollars is this day forwarded to Col. Carrington to be paid to you on account of the recruiting service for which you will give him your rect to be accountable, this advance is made to you for the purpose mentioned in your letter to the Secretary of War. I am &c.
