[Edward Millen Rec^d 9 Nov ans^d Janu^ry 9 a] Middletown Oct^o 20. 1797 Sir Agreeably to your letter of the 5^th Instant I have received of John Huston Esquire Supervisor for the District of Connecticut, the sum of Ninety two Dollars, being pay for my self and men, for the Month of September 1797. for which sum I enclose you a Receipt Roll, duly executed, for the above Same — The Contractor not being able to procure transportation sooner, they will imbar=ke this day. I have forward to the Commanding officer at [undecipherable] Point a Discription List and of Cloathing, Bounties paid, Balance Due, date & expiration of each Recruits Inlistment, I also enclose you two Rec^ts for Bounty, one for W. Nistett, 3 Dollar, I paid his full Bounty, as his [undecipherable] was attached on the day of Marching, for Ditto one John Burnes, Alias John Ryan, for one Dolla[r] the Said Ryan, is strongly suspected to be a Deserter from Cap^t. R. Bisfull, from this post, about the 8^th.
