Accountants Office New Brunswick                                 October 17^th 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 14^th Instant covering a muster roll of the recruits under your command from which I have had a pay and receipt roll made calculated to the 30^th Ult^o and which amounts to Forty eight dollars & ninety eight cents, this sum you will receive from M^r Samuel Lewis Clerk in the War Office when you have paid the recruits you will return the receipt roll that your account may receive a credit accordingly. I also received a number of vouchers for bounty paid by you which will be filed to be examined as usual, also a receipt of James Ramsay Drummer, for five $ paid him, which with three dollars, fifty cents for pursuing a deserter, are suspended till your recruiting account is settled.
