Document 1797Money advanced to Swearingin for pay of Col. Carlisle's regiment of Maryland militia called up to suppress an insurrection in the Western counties of Pennsylvania. The money that was issued to said regiment must be refunded to War Office since no vouchers were transmitted to Treasurer to exonerate Swearingin. Col. Nevill was furnished with corrections to attend to final settlement of said expedition. Neville will visit Office on the 15th by which time Simmons hoped vouchers will be furnished by Swearingin.
