Description

Dougherty charged with money received in advance from James Mott to pay New Jersey militia for suppressing insurrection in Western Counties of Pennsylvania. Infantry companies paid: Capt. John Tuft, Capt. Enos. Johnson, Capt. Jacob Hammet. Artillery companies paid: Capt. Eli Elmers and Capt. Israel Canfield. No vouchers were transmitted to exonerate the charges. Col. Neville furnished with directions for final settlement regarding expedition and will be at the Office on November 15th.
