W^m Simmons Acc^t M^r Alexander Buchanan Accountants Office late Cap^t in the Penn^a Militia October 17 - 1797 Sir In an abstract of monies advanced by P[undecipherable] Nevill, Paymaster General to the militia called out to sup- press an insurrection in the western counties of Penn- sylvania in the year 1794, you stand charged with money rec- eived from him pursuant to a warrant in your favor, for an en- [undecipherable] pay due a company of Pennsylvania militia command- ed by you, employed in said expedition, and as no vouchers h- itherto been transmitted to this Office to exonerate, yo- u from said advance, I have to request your immediate att- ention in rendering, such as you posses or can obtain in a short time, properly stated, and in case of deficiency refund the balance unaccounted for in your hands to Treasurer of the United States.
