In an abstract of monies advanced by Presley Nevil Paymaster General to the Militia called out to suppress an insurrection in the western counties of Pennsylvania in the year 1794 you stand charged with a sum of money received from him pursuant to a warrant in your favor being for pay of a Company of Virginia Militia commanded by you, employed in the said expedition, and as no vouchers have yet been transmitted to this Office to exonerate you from this charge I have to request your imediate attention in rendering such as you actually possess or can shortly procure, properly stated — and in case of deficiency to report the balance unaccounted for in your hands, to the Treasurer of the United States. I am under the necessity to be the more urged in requesting your immediate attention to this object in consequence of a resolution of Congress of the 3^d March last directing me to furnish an abstract of the names of all the receivers of public monies remaining unaccounted for, by the first week in January next. Col. Nevill the D.M.G. has been furnished with directions to attend to the final settlement of all the accounts relative to that expedition and is to attend for that purpose on the 15^th. November next before which time I hope your account & vouchers will be regularly furnished & examined in this office, and the amount paid by you passed to its proper account in the abstract aforementioned to be furnished to Congress.
