Description

Simmons urgently requests account details regarding monies advanced to Pendleton by Presley Neville, Paymaster General to the militia, for pay of militia to suppress an insurrection in the Western Counties of Pennsylvania, 1794. Money was advanced to Pendleton by warrants, who then paid Col. Campbell's regiment from Virginia. Simmons gave specific details on the appropriate manner to file account.
