I am this moment favored with your letter of the 6th instant accompanied by a packet addressed to the commanding officer at Fort Massac which I shall immediately forward by a confidential express and same time shall transmit instructions to the persons having charge of the boats transporting the Ordnance Stores, desiring you to continue their charge of the Boats & Stores under the orders of the Commanding officer of Fort Massac.
Boats shall be in readiness to transport the detachment & their Baggage you to Fort Massac, but I have to request by the return of post information as to the time it is expected the detachment will reach this post.
