I have returned you the whole that you may be enabled to make the necessary division and to note in all cases where payments have been becoming to persons performing extra service, or for the hire of Horses teams belonging to the public, that I may be enabled to judge of the propriety of admitting the same.
The sums paid by you to Caleb Herring & Thomas Hughes making together Ninety three 33 Drs, will with the amount paid to the detachment under your command for the Ordnance department for July & August last be passed to the credit of your account.
The detachments pay for September you may pay out of the money remaining in your hands and by transmitting the receipt roll therefor the same shall be passed to your credit.
Your salary amounting to three hundred twenty five dollars will be remitted to Nicholas Fish Esqr Supervisor at New York, from whom you will receive the same on giving the necessary receipts.
