I have been kept so very busy since I received your letter of the 4^th between the affairs of Blount, Cox, and the Mississippi, (the current of which Calls river you know is not easy to stem) as to have left me no time to reply. particularly to a part of it; and even now I can do no more than signify my intire concurrence with the line of march which you have suggested for the troops. Nothing has come to my knowledge either of a domestic or foreign nature that would make a change in it either prudent or politic. I long to get into winter quarters.
