Sir,
In pursuance of orders just received from the Secretary of War, I have to request that you would prepare for marching as many of the Recruits now at your rendezvous as you can possibly spare, and annex them to the detachment under Lieutenant Marschalk, who is now or soon will be at your Rendezvous. You will deliver Mr. Marschalk a list of the Men whom you shall so annex, specifying their dates of inlistment, amount of bounty and Clothing by them respectively received and the exact time to which they [strikethrough: are] have been paid.
