The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the sum of five hundred dollars which you will be pleased to pay to Mr George Claghorne constructor of the Frigate Constitution building at Boston being for his compensation from 1 July to 30th September 1797 inclusive and take his duplicate receipts therefor.
The Treasurer will also remit you a further sum of One hundred eighty seven dollars & fifty cents which you will please pay to Mr Caleb Gibbs Clerk of the Navy Yard at Boston, it being for his salary from 1st July to 30 September 1797 inclusive, and take the necessary receipts therefor.
