I received your letter of the 18th ulto covering the receipt of Ebenezer Snow for fourteen dollars being bounty paid him for entering into the service, Us which with two dollars for premia will be passed to the Credit of your account and leaves a balance due by you of Twenty three dollars and eighty nine Cents, which amount you will please to pay to Isaac Craig Esqr. at Pittsburg taking duplicate receipts for the same, one of which you will please to transmit to this Office to enable me to close your account.

Lieut Charles Martin of the 2d Regiment on statement of his account is indebted to the United States the sum of Twenty three dollars and eighty nine Cents which he is ready to pay agreeably to a letter received from him under date the 18th Ulto. I have therefore to request that you will be pleased to make immediate application to him for the same and on receiving grant your receipts holding yourself accountable to the War Department.
