West Point, September 30^th 1797 Sir, I enclose you my account current of this date with the United States accompanied by the respective vouchers therein referred to. By it there appears to be now in my hands a balance of two hundred thirty dollars seventy four cents. Application has been made to me to repay the fee given to justices of the peace for the official oaths taken by officers and others of the corps.
