I duly received your letter of the 21 Instant enclosing Finley & Cornwalls account and Col Rochefontaines No— you on the subject, which by no means tends to facilitate settlement of that business; after considering it in every point of view, I am of opinion that the sum of Nine dollars and Forty Cents ought to be deducted from the amount of the a— which will leave a balance of Twenty nine dollars and sixty Cents which sum you will be pleased to pay to the parties out of the unappropriated monies in your hands taking their rec— in full for the same agreeably to my remarks on the acc— which I herewith reinclose you for your further govern— ment in bringing this business to a final termina— which you will please to return accompanied with receipts.
