Sir T.D. Sep. 22. 1797
After you have perused the inclosed, & taken any Notes which may be necessary, be pleased to send them to Mr. Hodgdon.
I request a report of the progress which has been made in obtaining the articles required by the Algrine Treaty. Can any thing be done to accelerate the Preparation of the Masts Spars, &c?
I also wish for your report on the proposals for the last Contracts, [undecipherable]. If it can be done without too much trouble, a report of the state of all unfinished orders, which have been given, [strikethrough: would [undecipherable] no satisfaction] with your opinion of any measures which the good of the public [undecipherable] requires to be adopted, would give me satisfaction.
