[Copy] near Downingstown 19 Sep^t 1797 Sir I have had the Honor to receive your letter of the 14 Inst. — as yet no Reportition has been made of the monies appropriated at the last Session of Congress for maritime Fortifications, and very little of it expended, except in some indispensable Repairs to the Banks and Fort at mud Island.
