Sir
I received your letter of the 11th Ultimo
covering a Copy of your account current as given to
Caleb Swan Esqr Paymaster General in which you
appears to owe the United States the sum of Forty Ds
on examination of the original transmitted by the
said P.M.G. accompanied with vouchers, I find a
balance due by you of Eighty six dollars the dif-
ference forty six dollars arises from the want of
vouchers for payments made to sundry recruits
pr annexed account and which cannot be admitted
to your credit till you send on the receipts or sufficient
evidence of your having paid the same —
