The post arrived this morning without a line from you. Hope I shall not have occasion to attribute the disappointment to the fatal Malady that is reported to prevail in your city.
I have herewith transmitted you copies of Receipts to James O'hara Contractor for provision furnished at Pittsburg, he [undecipherable: Barp], Franklin &Morgaville also of his Agents Recepts for Provision returned to him on the 1st of June 1797. Thomas Martin, Waggoner arriving on the second instref, I advanced him thirty dollars for which his receipt is enclosed, that sum you will be pleased to stop from his account and place it to my credit.
In your next please to let me know the value of said Duck No 11. that being the quality of 17 Peices lost by the boat's sinking ascending the Alleghany. Perhaps I may be able to recover it or a part of the value from the boatmaster. I am Sir, Your very Obt Ser
