Petersburg 8. September 1797. S^ir, Your letter of the 1^st instant is received covering one addressed to Captain Isaac Guion which shall immediately be forwarded by a safe hand on board a light boat. On the 8^th instant I sent forward on board two flat bottomed Boats addressed to the Commanding officer of Fort Massac, three brass nine pounders, two 5½ inch howitzers together with their Carriages &appurtenances also all the shot, shells and fixed Ammunition [undecipherable: pointed out] by the list enclosed by you of the 28. July that has then come to hand. I have herewith enclosed a General Return of Stores at Petersburg, Franklin, do [Ditto], Baird, and Pearquisite up to the 1^st of July 1797 also a view of the Stores on hand on the first of August.
