Inclosed I have the Honor of forwarding to you the Muster and pay roll of the Detatchment of Artillerists and Engineers in garrison and under my Command at Port Mifflin. I request you would examine it and if found right to deliver the money to Lieut. George Ross at the War office being now Pofas: it will Spare the trouble of Sending a Second time: my request however is entirely Submitted to more momentary business which you may have at hand —
you will find in the pay roll a Sum of 116 Dol to Complete the payment of the bounty due to the men I earnestly request you will pass it and clear the United States of Such a Debt, and myself of the Daily complaints for it. I remember with gratitude that you already granted Such petition on my demand.
I hope you find your new abode healthy and agreeable and have your family with you desire my respects to Mrs Simmons. —
