I received your letter of the 2d Instant enclosing the Muster & Pay Roll of the Recruits under your command to the 31st August 1797 after deducting one dollars and sixty nine cents therefrom leaves the sum of One hundred, ninety two Dollars and twenty four cents which you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr Supervisor New York on giving him duplicate receipts holding yourself accountable for the due application thereof.
You will perceive by the receipt roll enclosed from whom the deductions were made, the errors have arisen from your taking the month of august at 30 Days and calculating accordingly.
