A Major has been appointed to this duty and is now in the exercise of the office. he Claims 25 dollars extra pay per month, ten dollars forage money per month and two extra Rations per day, as allowed by Law. I beg Sir that you will please to in-form me by the next post, precisely, what I am to pay him in addition to his emoluments as a major in the line, of Infantry.
