Pittsburg 1 September 1797 Sir I have received your letters of the 21. ult. accompanied by an open one addressed to lieu. Charles Martin, together with his ac=count current with the U. S. and which I shall have the plea=ty of presenting to him at le Bœuf in a few days. Major Kirkpatrick says he answered your letter by last post & then informed you that John Iromy had crossed the Ohio &probably the Missisippi and is therefore at present out of my reach. I shall however use means to find him. You will find this accompanied by a pay Roll of Captain Gans & Turner's company for May June & July 1797, the amount paid thereon 407⁶³/100 dollars which sum be pleased to place to my credit. You will also find a Muster Roll of same company for July & You will please to observe that a Muster Roll for April May & June accompanied by a pay Role for April &c was furnished to you on the 14^th July. Cap^t Beissel's Rolls are not yet come to hand but shortly expected together with accounts of pay of detached officers at the upper forts. I am Sir Your obed^t servant [flourish] William Simmons Acc.
