Sir
You stand charged on the Books of this [Office] with monies received by you and which yet remain t[o be account]-ed for.
Pursuant to a Resolutions of the House of [Represen]-tatives of the 3 March 1797 I am required to lay before [them] within the first Week in January next an abstract of [the] names &c. of all those who stand charged with monies o[f this] Office.
In order to prevent your name from [appear]-ing as a delinquent I have to request you will as [soon] as posible account for the monies received by you [by] producing the necessary Vouchers or refunding the ba[lance] to the Treasurer of the United States.
Your immediate attentions to this object [is] particularly requested.
