You stand charged on the Books of this O[ffice] with monies received by you and which remain y[et] accounted for.
Pursuant to a Resolve of the House of Rep[resenta]tives of 3 March 1797 I am required to lay before th[e House] within the first Week in January next — an abstract [of] names &c. of all receivers of public monies from 1 Jan[uary] 1791 to 1st January 1797.
In order to prevent your name from appe[aring] as a delinquent I have to request you will without del[ay] ac=count for the monies received either by producing necessary Vouchers or refunding the balance to the Treas[urer] of the United States.
Your immediate attention to this object is particularly requested.
