You stand charged on the Books [of this]
Office with monies received by you and which re[main]
yet to be accounted for.
In pursuance of a Resolution of [the]
House of Representatives of 3 March 1797 I am re[quired]
to lay before them within the first Week in Janua[ry]
an abstract of the names of all receivers of public m[oney]
from 1 January 1791 to 1 January 1797
In order to prevent your name
appearing as a delinquent I have to request you will wi[thout]
delay account for the monies you received either by [produ]
cing the necessary Vouchers or refunding the balan[ce to]
the Treasurer of the United States.
Your attention to this object is pa[rticu]
larly requested as early as possible. —
