You stand charged on the Books of this Office with monies received by you and which yet remain to be accounted for.
Pursuant to a Resolve of the House of Representatives of 3d March 1797 I am required to lay before them within the first Week in January next an abstract of the names &c. of all receivers of public monies from 1 January 1791 to 1 January 1797.
In order to prevent your name from ap-pearing as a delinquent I have to request you will with-out delay account for the monies you received either by producing the necessary vouchers or refunding the balance to the Treasurer of the United States.
Your early attention to this object is parte-cularly requested.
