Pittsburg 25^th August 1797 Sir, The post has arrived but without either letter or packet from you. I hope I shall not have to attribute this disappointment to any indisposition or absence from home occasioned by that fatal disease that is said again to have made its appearance in your city. You have I presume before this time moved to your new & healthful situation in Arch Street, if not, I hope you are not continuing in Water Street. The Waggons with the Guns &c are not yet arrived, but it is said they are within a few days Journey. You will find enclosed herewith a letter addressed to you from Cap^t Crawford covering his letter of attorney empowering you to receive his pension to which I have to beg your attention. To this I am induced by two Motives, 1^st that Captain Crawford is in very low Circumstances. 2^d that I have advanced him a small sum which is to be refunded by his pension.
