Pittsburg 25^th August 1797 Sir Your letters of the 11^th & 19^th instant are received, the former enclosing Lieut Lukens's account of expences to Presqu'isle & returning the latter under cover with two others, the one addressed to Major Ab^m Kirkpatrick and the other to M^r John Goomy. with respect to Lieut Lukens I shall in settlement thereof attend to your directions & Kirkpatrick's letter is delivered and I shall call upon him for the timber you mention, but I am apprehensive it will not be possible for me to find John Goomy as he some time ago decended the Ohio, it is said, to the Spanish Territory leaving several debts unpaid.
