I have the pleasure to inform you that at length I have a prospect of obtaining payment for your Military services. I have mentioned to the Secretary of War your application to the Secretary of State and he has agreed to allow whatever Colonel Pickering thinks right. Pray you to send me a Copy of the account presented and agreed to by Colonel Pickering, while you were present made up hitherto to the present time & an order in the form of it to pay the amount to me, this will close the business.
