You stand charged on the Books of this Office with monies received by you and which remain yet to be accounted for.
Pursuant to a Resolve of the House of Representatives of 8 March 1797 I am required to lay before them within the first Week in January next an abstract of the names &c of all receivers of public money from 1 January 1791 to 1 January 1797.
In order to prevent your name from appearing as a delinquent I have to request you will with-out delay account for the monies received either by producing the necessary vouchers or refunding the balance to the Treasurer of the United States.
