[453] D^r John Seargent Indian Missionary To the United States. 1795 August 26 For amount of Warrant N^o 616 to Cha^s Burrall on account of the Share coming to the Stockbridge Indians of the annuity of 1500 Dollars granted to the 6 Nations. 1796 Sep^t 15 For amount of Warrant N^o 1465 to Reuben Bacon att^y to John Seargent, Agent to the Stockbridge Indians, being the balance of the first Years Annuity due them & promised to be paid in [undecipherable] by Timothy Pickering Esq^r D^r The foregoing is an Extract of advanc[es from] the Books of this Office and does not appear ever to [have] been deducted from the annuity granted to the Sto[ck]bridge Indians, but stands to the debit of John [Seargent.] In order to comply with the Resoluti[on of] the House of Representatives of 3^d March 1797, I request [you] will be pleased to inform me whether the same is [each] to be considered as an advance and chargeable to th[e] yearly stipend, or is immediately to be carried to th[e] Debit of the Contingencies of the Indian Departme[nt &] the above account closed accordingly.
