August 23^d 17[97] Sir I duly received your two letters of 20 Inst. the one enclosing sundry receipts for boun[ty for] your Recruits — No. 21 to 26 Inclusive amounting to [one hundred] two dollars which will be placed with those here[tofore] received — the other enclosing a letter for Lieuten[ant] D.
