Ellis Island, August 21^st 97 Sir I only received yours of the 15^th Inst. — Lowrey informs me that he went on Command from Fort Washington with Cap^t Sparks in April 1796 and was left sick at Pittburgh in the following June — that he was included in a Muster of Captain Crawfords Comp^y — either in the latter part of June a beginning of July — his Term of Service expired the 27^th of August 96 — of which he received a Certificate from Col. Butler — which Certificate he has lost — I enclose a number of receipts for Bounty paid since my last — By mistake — in my former letter I enclosed a Receipt of John Dale for four Dollars — being a Duplicate of a former one forwarded — instead of the unclosed receipt for Six Dollars — Will you be So Obliging, therefore, as to return me one of those receipts for the four Dollars.
