You stand charged on the Books of the Office with the sum of Three Hundred eighty [undecipherable] Dollars & forty six Cents as pr account annexd —
Pursuant to a Resolve of the House of Representatives of the 3d March 1797 I am required to lay before them within the first Week in January next an abstract of those who stand charged with money of this Office. —
In order to prevent your name appearing among the delinquents I request you will forward such Vouchers as will enable me to close your account or that you will refund the amount to the Treasurer of the United States for that purpose.
Your immediate attention to this subject is particularly requested — I am &c.
