Sir.
As the office of Deputy Pay Master and Store-keeper in Tennessee has been vacated by the removal of Mr Hollis, I have, with the approbation of the President, appointed Mr Edward Knight, at present an inhabitant of Queen Ann's County in Maryland, to fill this vacancy. His Salary will be at the rate of Six Hundred dollars Pr annum, to commence on the first day of September ensuing.
