Pittsburg 18 August 1797. Sir Your letter of the 11^th instant covering an Invoice of the Stores intended for Masfae and accompanied by the news Papers &^c is received. On the arrival of the D^r G. in the evening of the 17^th Informed him of M^r Flanagan's Drafts and of having drawn on you in order to discharge the debt in favor of J. T. A. Hient of which he approves. Have sent forward a ton of Powder to Fort Washington. I have boats in readiness to transport the Guns & Stores to Masfae on their arrival. The Box containing 17 Pieces Duck & one pair of Steelyards, lost in the Alleghany, has not been found notwithstanding the utmost ex-ertions have been made. I am, Sir, Your obed^t ser. J. C.
