Office with monies received by you and which yo[u are]
to be accounted for.
In pursuance of a Resolution of [the]
House of Representatives of 3d March 1797, I am p[repared]
to lay before them within the first Week in Janua[ry next]
an abstract of the names of all the receivers of p[ublic]
monies from 1st January 1791 to 1st January 1797.
In order to prevent your name fro[m ap-]
pearing as a delinquent, I have to request you wil[l with-]
out delay account for the monies you received by p[roducing]
the necessary vouchers or refunding the balance to [the]
Treasurer of the United States.

In pursuance of a Resolve of the House
of Representatives of the 3d March 1797 — I am required
to lay before them within the first Week in January next
an abstract of the names of all those who stand charged
with monies on the Books of this Office, and being very
desirous to reduce their number all in my power, and to
effect which object I have wrote letters to such as have
accounts of long standing, several of which I now
take the liberty to enclose to you, requesting you will
forward and make use of your influence with those
to whom they are addressed to effect an immediate
settlement — annexed you have a list of their names.
