Sir
In pursuance to a Resolve of the H[ouse] of Representatives of 3d March 1797 I am required to l[ay] before them within the first Week in January next an abstract of the names &c. of those who stand charg[ed] w[ith] monies at this Office, and being desirous to effect as man[y] settlements as posible previous to that period I have to request you will be pleased to present the letters s[ent] herewith agreeably to their superscriptions & obtain i[n] your power a final settlement of the accounts of Cap[t] Edward Butler & Lieutt Peter Grayson in which case [I] will loose no time in transmitting the necessary [vou]c[hers] &c. to enable me to close their accounts.
