David Hall of the Corps of Art^y West Point Sir Enclosed you will receive a copy of your account current, taken from the Books of this Office in which is a Balance due the United States of Ten Dollars & twenty two Cents — I request you will examine the same and if free of error transmit the amount to the Treasurer of the United States, that I may be enabled to close your account; this will appear to you necessary, to be attended to immediately, when I inform you that by a Resolve of the House of Representatives of 3^d March 1797 I am required to lay before them within the first Week in January next an abstract of the names of all those who appear charged with monies at this Office, and in order that you may not appear among the delinquents I would recommend to your attention the above — Expecting your answer shortly I am &c.
