Here did enclosed John Bryants order as D.C.M. Storis, dated the 2d instant in favor of Zebina Stebbins, and by him endorsed, made payable to Booth & Pratt, whose Clerk, Francois Booth, has signed the same — He has also signed Duplicate receipts according to the form, prescribed one of which is now enclosed dated the 7th instant for the same sum as the order, viz $ 134 75/100 Dollars, and agreeably to your letter of the 23d ulto
There was received at this Office on the 13th [undecipherable] last in Mr Merediths letter of the 8th Mr [undecipherable] Simpsons draft of that date on the Branch bank here for 500 Dollars drawn on warrant N° 2196— I have not received any directions to whom it is to be paid— Mr George [undecipherable: probable reading Claghorne], Contractor of the Frigate here, has enquired of I had any directions lately to pay money to him, which I told him I had not.—
Capt James Sover has never yet called for the 223 26/100 dollars ordered in December last to be paid him—
