Your letter of the 6th Current has been recd I am commanded by the Secretary of War to inform you that he has no objection to the Supporters of the out head and the out faces being done in Baltimore, you have therefore his permission accordingly.
I mention that Mr Rush and recommended the Secretary of War's approbation of your proposal to him, he says one of his young Men is about visiting his friends in Baltimore and its vicinity and should you wish for his assistance to cut those pieces above mentioned he will cheerfully perform it. he will be at Baltimore in the course of a few days. His name is Beed —
