I have received your letter of the 26th ultimo ac-companied by the letters and Packets you mention which shall be sent forward tomorrow: And I have also this day received a letter from Samuel Hewes Esq enclosing seventeen hun-dred and fifty dollars in Post Notes for Pay and Forage of the Troops at the upper posts for May, June and July 1797 and for which sum I have transmitted Duplicate Receipts.
You will find enclosed an account of expences of Lieut Lickens sent by order of Captain Turner to pay a detachment of his Company at Franklin, le Boeuf and Presqu'isle be pleased to examine it and return it with the necessary remarks on it.
