Sir,
Your letter of the 28.th ultimo enclosing an Invoice of ordnance Stores is this day received.
Means of transportation for these Stores shall be provided immediately and such of the Articles mentioned in your letter to be taken from this post as are on hand shall be sent forward, Viz. falling Axes, Musket Cartridges & Powder. Nearly all the entrenching tools have already been sent forward. A considerable number of these Articles can be purchased here at any time.
On the Invoice I observe 100 - 5½ inch Howitzer Cars that to which, Sir if you approve, can be added 3 if that are now on hand at this post.
