I received your letter of the 8 July enclosing a copy of a Waste Book for monies paid by the Agent of the War Department at Knoxville from the 1st May to the 30th June 1797. in looking over the payments I observe that very few are to be settled in this Office most of the sums paid appear to be more properly connected with accounts to be settled at the Treasury — I hope that Col. Henley in making out his accounts will be able to make the proper distinction and not blend the Vouchers to be settled at the Treasury with those proper to be settled at this Office
