W^m Simmons Acc^t Col: Van Rensselaer Esq^r Accountants Office Capt. light Dragoons July 24^th 1797 Knoxville Tennessee D^r Sir Ensign Richard Campbell of the 4^th Reg^t presented at this Office powers of attorney from Hugh McDonald and Andrew McKinney two Soldiers of your Troop who appear to have been lately discharged by Lieutenant Paul M^cdermot on supposition that their times of service had expired, by a reference to well authenticated muster Rolls now on file in my Office I find that Hugh McDonald is not intitled to a discharge untill the 20^th Octo^r 1797, and Andrew McKinney untill the 23^d October 1797 both of these persons are stated to have considerable arcarages of pay and clothing due to them, I give you this information that they may be included in your muster and Pay Rolls that they may have every thing that they are justly intitled to.
